The southernmost point of the Matsu Archipelago. Looking south from Dapu Settlement, an isolated island named "Lin'ao Yu" lies not far across the sea. It is one of the three small islands surrounding Dongjyu Island and also the southernmost point of the Matsu Archipelago. Unlike Xiniu Yu to the north, which forms an intertidal zone connecting to Dongjyu Island during low tide, Lin'ao Yu remains separated from Dongjyu Island year-round, without a direct connection. Lin'ao Yu features various strangely shaped rocks and abundant plant ecological resources. According to surveys by botanical experts, the perennial Eurya emarginata on the island holds significant ornamental value. The island is also covered with peculiar rock formations, rich in mythical stories and legends. Currently, the island is not open to visitors, and only a few anglers venture to Lin'ao Yu for fishing. It is one of Dongjyu Island's primary fishing grounds and a highly sought-after spot among anglers. One of the County-Designated Natural Landscapes of Matsu Geopark. Due to Lin'ao Yu's unique geology and rich plant ecology, it was designated as a county-level natural landscape in 2018, becoming one of the ten major areas of Matsu Geopark.
