Fish Road Ancient Trail

A historic trail connecting Dapu and Daping. The century-old "Fish Road Ancient Trail" in Dapu, also known as "Xiadie Road," links Dapu and Daping. In the bygone era of limited resources, it served as a vital route for Dapu fishermen to transport their catch to Daping for sale. To make a living, residents of both communities frequently traveled between Daping and Dapu. With the decline of the fishing industry, the ancient trail had once fallen into disrepair and become overgrown due to the emigration of residents from both villages. Through the collaboration of the Dongju Community Development Association and Dongju Elementary School, local residents worked together to clear weeds, plant trees, restore the trail, and transform it into an ecological park. The trail boasts an incredibly rich ecosystem. Various migratory birds and butterflies bring delightful surprises around every turn as the seasons change. Native plants adorn the trail with a kaleidoscope of colors throughout the year. Every September, red spider lilies bloom freely along the hillside paths. In October, visitors can savor the sweet, milky flavor of "Zheguo" fruit. By November, clusters of small yellow chrysanthemums blanket the ground like a golden carpet. In recent years, the Dongju Community Association has also embarked on forest landscape revitalization. In addition to native spider lilies, they have begun cultivating Matsu lilies and pear trees. They have also planted fruit trees such as peach, cherry, and passion fruit, hoping to bring an even more diverse appearance to the ancient trail. The Fish Road Ancient Trail originally had two exits; walking straight from Dapu leads directly to Daping Village.
