Mysterious Little Bay

Mysterious Little Bay is a therapeutic and mysterious coastline. Located in an inlet on the path from Fuzheng Village to Dapou Village, it's a new attraction named only in recent years. The boundless and vast sea makes one's heart feel infinitely expansive. During the peak season for 'Blue Tears' (bioluminescent plankton), this is also one of Dongju Island's popular spots for viewing them, offering a panoramic view of the magnificent blue luminescence in the cove from above. From certain angles, the sea stacks and sea grooves in the bay spark the imagination, leading to folk tales of Lu Dongbin and He Xiangu achieving immortality here, hence its other name, "Lu He Cliff." Below and to the right of the platform is a balanced rock, said to be the Jade Emperor's imperial seal, placed there to suppress the two immortals Lu and He. Looking towards the mountain ridge to the right of the platform, it resembles a stone lion guarding the imperial seal. Below the stone lion, at sea level, there is a sharp sea stack: at high tide, it looks like a shark; at low tide, it resembles a rhinoceros closely accompanying the stone lion. To the northeast of the bay is a cave, which residents call "Swallow's Nest," a gathering place for birds. A TV adventure show crew once ventured inside to film the cave's interior. The cave leads to the sea and was an early shortcut for oyster gatherers. It is said that in ancient times, when pirates were rampant in the Matsu Islands, this was the best hiding place for islanders to escape them. As shell casings and unexploded ordnance still remain inside the cave, visitors are strongly advised against entering.
