Yuntai Mountain Military Intelligence Museum

Yuntai Mountain, Nangan's highest peak in Matsu, stands at an elevation of 248 meters. It is the 98th of Taiwan's 100 Lesser Peaks and the best spot to gaze upon the Matsu archipelago and China's Beijiao Peninsula from above. To understand Matsu's strategic situation and the enemy's movements at the time, the Matsu Defense Command built the Military Intelligence Museum here in 1996 to strengthen enemy intelligence education for soldiers. In 2009, considering the development of tourism in the Matsu area, the exhibits inside the Military Intelligence Museum were screened and relocated in accordance with the National Classified Information Protection Act. The Matsu National Scenic Area Administration then agreed to renovate the original Military Intelligence Museum, which was subsequently opened to visitors on November 7, 2010. Note: This military site is only open to domestic visitors. Group visitors (tour groups, companies, or organizations) and individual visitors (tourists, backpackers) may enter after their ID cards are verified by the administrator (guard) and the application process is completed. Photography is prohibited in some areas of the camp.
