Matsu Distillery

Home of fine wines, filled with the aroma of spirits. Matsu Distillery is located below Niujiao Ridge at the entrance of Fuxing Village. Using sweet and clear spring water, its renowned fine wines are famous far and wide, especially its Daqu, Gaoliang, and aged liquor, making it a representative specialty of Matsu. Rows of neat wine jars line the walls by the distillery's main gate, creating a grand spectacle. A couplet hangs at the entrance, reading 'Unseal a jar, fragrance travels a hundred li; Wash a jar, a thousand homes are drunk,' warmly welcoming visitors to come inside and sample the wines. The exhibition hall at the entrance displays various fine wines, including commemorative wines produced throughout Matsu Distillery's history and precious, now-discontinued medicinal wines. Visitors can also learn about the past and present of Matsu Distillery through video introductions and displays of artifacts used by early residents for winemaking, such as iron pots, bamboo sieves, and ancient jars.
