Bishan, Mazu's highest mountain at 298 meters above sea level, is the tallest peak in the Mazu region and offers panoramic views of Beigan. From the Bishan observation deck, visitors can admire the entire landscape of Beigan Island. Hikers can choose to ascend from Tangqi Village via the eastern mountain road, or take one of two shorter, less strenuous trails from Shangcun to Qinbi, reaching the observation deck in about 30 minutes. From the observation deck on the mountainside, the panoramic view on clear days is breathtaking. Beigan Airport, Tangqi Village, Houwo, and even the distant uninhabited islands of Daqiu and Xiaoqiu are all visible. This stunning scenery is not only a must-photograph Mazu attraction for photography enthusiasts but also the best spot to capture planes taking off and landing at Beigan Airport. Note: Winds on Bishan can be strong; please exercise caution when riding motorcycles. Additionally, some areas are military zones; please refrain from photographing military installations to avoid potential disputes.
