Banli Beach

A soft, fine sandy beach glistening with white light. With its straight coastline and fine sand, Banli's stretch of white beach is particularly precious in Matsu, known for its many rocky shores. Banli Beach is a southeast-facing bay. Every summer, it is swept by monsoon winds, and coupled with sediment carried by ocean currents, it gradually accumulates over time to form a large, flat sandy beach, lying amidst the blue sky and clear sea. Surrounded by Mount Qin, Mount Ban, and Mount Li, Banli Beach is Matsu's flattest, most expansive, and highest-quality beach. It connects with Wusha Beach, forming a continuous coastline, linked by a wooden boardwalk. Because the sand contains quartz, the entire beach sparkles with a subtle white glow when sunlight hits it. Whether watching the sunrise or the sunset, Banli Beach allows visitors to experience the beauty of changing light and cloud formations. Gentle, lapping waves caress the beach, making it ideal for playing in the water and wading. It has gradually become a popular spot for residents and tourists to stroll or admire the sea view. This beautiful and dreamy beach is located behind the Beigan Visitor Center. If you visit the visitor center, you might as well take a detour to explore the long stretch of golden sand, step into the refreshing water, relax, and enjoy the seascape. Not far from Banli Beach, towards Baisha Port, stands the small and colorful Banli Mazu Temple, a place that, though small, is complete with all essential features, and is said to be the smallest in the world.
