Baisha Port

Baisha Port: Beigan's vital maritime gateway. Located at the southern tip of Beigan Island, Matsu, Baisha Port is a crucial transportation hub for inter-island travel within Matsu and the Mini Three Links. In the past, before the pier was built, the coastline was covered with glistening, pristine white sand, hence its name 'Baisha' (White Sand). After the Baisha Pier was completed in 1998, the clean white sand beach transformed into Beigan's new maritime transportation gateway. A port building was added, and the Western Coastal Road was opened, connecting it to Banli, further enhancing both sea and land transport. Complemented by a beautiful blue sea and a continuous coastline, it has become an important port serving both fishing and commerce. Behind the port building, the Baisha settlement preserves some old houses, built in a terraced style, stacked layer upon layer on the slopes of Nigushan (Nun's Mountain). The quaint stone houses reveal a strong local fishing village character.
