Sunset Bay

In the early days, residents around Dapeng Bay primarily engaged in aquaculture. Water pipes from every household snaked across the ground, creating visual clutter and management difficulties. After extensive coordination and planning, the aquaculture farmers' pipelines were re-integrated and organized, converging into a shared water intake pond for collective use. This not only resolved the scenic and management issues but also created a recreational and educational venue. A bicycle path and walking trail have been planned along the lagoon, making it one of the best spots to enjoy the sunset. With complete accessibility facilities, it is also suitable for wheelchair users to enjoy the breeze and wander through the beautiful sunset glow. To better reflect the tourism, cultural, and human characteristics of Dapeng Bay, a 'naming contest' was specially held in 2014, and the area was finally renamed 'Sunset Bay'.
