Biyun Temple

The spiritual heart of Xiaoliuqiu residents! Biyun Temple is located in the center of Liuqiu Island. Built in 1736, it has a history of over 200 years and primarily enshrines Guanyin Bodhisattva. Xiaoliuqiu residents, whether for choosing auspicious dates for weddings and funerals, celebrating full moons, seeking a partner, inquiring about illness, or praying for a full fishing harvest, rely on Guanyin Bodhisattva. All aspects of life, from birth, aging, sickness, and death to joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness, are intertwined with Guanyin Bodhisattva. For all matters, big or small, Xiaoliuqiu residents come here to draw divination sticks and seek guidance from the deity, making it a crucial spiritual anchor for the local community! In 1980, the late President Chiang Ching-kuo personally visited the temple and donated 1000 yuan as an incense offering, helping the temple's reputation spread throughout Taiwan! Below Biyun Temple, there is a wooden boardwalk where visitors can enjoy the bamboo forest ecosystem. Strolling along it, sunlight filters through the trees, creating a refreshing ambiance. At night, under the scattered lights, the bamboo groves sway with the gurgling stream, accompanied by the intermittent croaking of frogs.
