Dapeng Bay Cross-Sea Bridge

This scenic bridge, located at the exit of Dapeng Bay on the bay-circling road of Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area (next to Qingzhou Recreation Area), was completed, opened, and commenced traffic in March 2011. It is the nation's first opening scenic bridge designed to accommodate the entry and exit of sailboats. In the future, in conjunction with the BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) yacht harbor construction, it will allow large sailboats to enter and exit, fostering the development of international-class yachting and offshore yachting activities. It will further form a 'golden triangle' for yachting activities with Kaohsiung's Love River Tourist Pier. The Dapeng Bay Cross-Sea Bridge has a total length of 579 meters, a width of 30 meters, and its main tower stands 71 meters above the water surface. The bridge offers a maximum clearance of 17 meters above the water (with a water span of approximately 70 meters), and its opening span reaches 20 meters to accommodate the entry and exit of various recreational vessels. Its design features a single-tower, asymmetrical, single-plane, composite cable-stayed bridge, a unique three-dimensional design (different from typical two-dimensional bridge shapes). From the front, it resembles a Roc bird carrying an object; from the side, a bowing maiden; and from the back, the letter 'A'. The movable bridge deck takes only 2 minutes to open to a 75-degree angle. Every Saturday and Sunday at 5 PM, a bridge-opening show is held for visitors to enjoy. At night, illuminated by lights, it not only presents a beautiful scenic image but also serves as a landmark for offshore working vessels and recreational boats.
