Luye Kunci Temple and Luye Shrine

Next to the Luye Longtian Bikeway, there is a temple surrounded by ancient trees. This is Kunci Temple, which primarily enshrines the Golden Mother of the Jade Pond, serving as a local spiritual center and a gathering place for locals to chat. Kunci Temple is quite unique, featuring both Japanese shrine and Taoist temple architectural styles. Its current site was originally the location of a shrine in an immigrant village during the Japanese colonial period, and it is also where Dharma Master Cheng Yen once stayed to practice.
