Visitor Essentials

Luanshan Tribe is located at Dulan Mountain, at the southern end of the Coastal Mountain Range. It boasts the best-preserved mixed forest of nanmu and banyan trees currently in existence and is also home to the Bunun people. There are no fences, buildings, or electricity facilities within the tribe, making it a natural forest museum, reminiscent of the movie Avatar. The intertwined, thick aerial roots of the banyan trees continuously spread and expand, replacing the original branches as they wither, giving the impression that the trees are moving. For this reason, the banyan trees here are also known as 'walking trees'.
