Mini Tianxiang

As you travel along Dongfu Highway, located at the southernmost tip of Hualien on Provincial Highway 23, you can admire the rare terraced field scenery of Taiwan. Dongfu Highway is winding and meandering, with the road becoming increasingly narrow. On one side is a steep cliff, and on the other is a deep valley. After passing through a small, man-made tunnel—the Shimen (Stone Gate)—this landscape, at first glance, resembles the treacherous terrain of Taroko Gorge. Therefore, it is known as "Mini Tianxiang" and attracts travelers who drive there to explore its hidden beauty and scenic wonders.
