Liyu Lake

Liyu Lake is located at the foot of Liyu Mountain in Chinan Village, Shoufeng Township. It was named Liyu Lake because it is situated on the eastern side of Liyu Mountain. Liyu Lake can be divided into southern and northern sections. The northern section is near attractions such as Tongmen Mukumuyu and Emerald Valley, while the southern section is close to Chinan Forest Recreation Area and Baibao River. It is a popular scenic area in Hualien, offering diverse recreational activities like lakeside trails, forest trails, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), and lake tours. During holidays, it's a great place for locals to picnic and take their children out for excursions. During the firefly breeding season, the twinkling glow illuminates the dark Liyu Lake, attracting schools, families, and tourists to participate in an ecological tour.
