Tongliang Ancient Banyan

The ancient banyan tree in front of Baouan Temple in Tongliang Village is over 300 years old and is Penghu's largest sacred tree, offering the most extensive shade. This venerable banyan features a total of 95 aerial roots. Its vast canopy covers the open space in front of the temple, creating a shaded plaza perfect for cooling off and resting. Without close observation, it's truly difficult to believe that all the branches originate from a single tree.
