Guoye Sunrise Viewing Tower

Guoye Village has become a popular destination for sunrise viewing in recent years. It is a simple fishing village located on the eastern side of Huxi Township. 'Guoye' is the common name for a plant, scientifically known as 'Sea Hibiscus' (or *Talipariti tiliaceum*). As early as the Ming Dynasty, a large and lush forest of Guoye trees thrived here, making it one of the villages in Penghu named after a plant.
