Shili Beach

North of Shili village lies a small hill resembling the gauze hat worn by ancient officials, hence named Shamozan (Gauze Hat Mountain). Shili village itself is situated on the 'crown ear' (pronounced 'si' in Taiwanese Hokkien) that extends from this gauze hat, which is why it's called 'Shinei' or 'Shili'. To the south, Shili borders the ocean, boasting a white sand beach formed from coral and shell fragments. In the past, it served as a fishing ground where residents would pull nets, and it once developed into the largest public beach in the county, with scenery comparable to Waikiki Beach in Hawaii.
