Dinggouyu Islet

Dinggouyu Islet is located approximately one kilometer southeast of Jishan Islet, belonging to Huxi Township. "Dinggou" means anchor, and the islet was named Dinggouyu because its shape resembles an anchor. The entire islet is composed of densely structured columnar basalt, which often contains olivine nodules. Due to varying directions of magma flow reaching the surface, diverse columnar joints were formed upon cooling. Subsequent weathering and erosion have created unique and varied sea-eroded landforms, earning it the moniker "Little Guilin of the Sea."
