Dongyuping Islet

Dongyuping Islet, one of the Southern Four Islands, is an island formed by Penghu volcanic lava, characterized by its basalt mesa landform. Basalt joint landscapes are visible everywhere on the island. The east and north coasts feature landforms such as sea grooves, sea caves, and sea stacks. The south and west coasts, however, have gravel beaches composed of coral debris, while the remaining areas consist of steep columnar basalt sea cliffs. Near the pier on the southwest side, there is also a rock formation composed of volcanic breccia and dikes, which locals call "Ta Zi".
