Xiyu Main Ammunition Depot

We often use the idiom "bronze walls and iron ramparts" to describe the sturdiness of buildings. However, the Xiyu Ammunition Depot is a truly authentic "bronze wall and iron rampart"! The Xiyu Ammunition Depot includes an earth-cave style cooling ammunition magazine and a cave-style ammunition magazine, popularly known as "bronze walls and iron ramparts". It is a rare example of early Japanese colonial period military architecture and one of the four major ammunition depots of the Japanese army at the Penghu Island Fortress.
