Shanshui Wetland Park

Shanshui Wetland Park is located behind the Shanshui Beach seawall and is a precious wetland in Penghu. The entire park covers an area of approximately 1.7 hectares. In 2012, through environmental renovation projects that lowered the seawall and connected the inner and outer wetlands, the entire area formed a wetland ecosystem that integrates aquatic, wetland, and dryland plants. For instance, on the Shanshui Wetland, there are many sand-fixing plants, such as beach burr grass (Spinifex littoreus), which superficially resembles a sea urchin.
