Magong City God Temple

Did you know that historically, temples in Penghu were categorized into 'public temples' and 'private temples'? Among these, 'public temples' were also known as 'He Peng' (闔澎), which can be pronounced 'Gai Peng' in Taiwanese Hokkien. Due to their flourishing incense offerings, Penghu Tianhou Temple, Magong City God Temple, and Penghu Guanyin Pavilion are known as the 'Three Great Ancient Temples of He Peng'.
