Shahgang Village • Huahou Pagoda

Shahgang boasts vast intertidal zones with rich marine resources. The Huahou Pagoda is situated offshore at "Huahou," thus earning its name. It was constructed in Minguo 53 (1964) following instructions from the spirit medium of Xuan Tian Shang Di (Emperor of the Dark Heaven). The pagoda was built to create a balance between the north and south of the village, as the terrain on the southern hills is higher while the northern terrain is flat, making it difficult to achieve equilibrium. Additionally, the stone pagoda features a unique "wind vent" in one section.
