Anshan Li Peace Pagoda

Legend has it that Anshan Village once had a person with profound magical powers. After this eminent and extraordinary person, whom all villagers regarded as remarkable, passed away, the residents washed his internal organs by the river. However, they accidentally left behind the liver and intestines, which later transformed into a turtle and a snake causing mischief in the village. Unable to endure the disturbance, the residents sought help from Lord Emperor of Anshan Beiji Temple. He used a precious sword to subdue the troublesome turtle and snake and confined them within the pagoda. The sword, the turtle, and the snake also became the three treasures of the stone pagoda. The Peace Pagoda has since become a landmark of Anshan today, and simultaneously serves the function of blessing ships for safe passage.<br />Source: Oral accounts from local elders of Anshan Village.
