Yanliao

Yanliao Village is located in Shoufeng Township, Hualien County, boasting Taiwan's longest gravel beach. The name Yanliao (Salt Hut) originated from the early days when edible salt was produced here for the nearby Hualien Port, and it was already known as "Yanliao Port" during the Japanese colonial period. In recent years, every summer, artisans and backpackers from all over gather here to form the exotic "Sea or Insane Market" (Haihuo Feng Shiji), where handmade crafts, tarot readings, and discussions on various topics can all be found.
