Fushan Fishery Resources Conservation Area

The Fushan Fishery Protection Zone is located by the seaside of Shan-yuan in Beinan Township, Taitung County, at the southern end of Dulan Bay. It is the only public beach in Taitung County, and was formerly known as 'Shan-yuan Public Beach'. The Fushan waters were once rich in fishery resources. More than ten years ago, due to overfishing, the marine ecosystem was almost completely destroyed. Not only could fishermen not survive, but its recreational value also diminished.
