Yunlin: Ruichun Soy Sauce Tourist Factory

[Evaluation valid period: 2022/06/15~2025/06/14] Ruichun Soy Sauce was founded in 1921. After the first-generation owner, Zhong Qin, learned soy sauce brewing techniques, he concocted his own ingredients. Using black bean soy sauce combined with Xiluo's special Turbid Water Rice, he created the first batch of rich and mellow soy paste. He carried a carrying pole, selling soy sauce next to Xiluo Temple, and only later established his own brand, founding [Ruichun Soy Sauce]. The second-generation owner, Zhong Gongzhao, in a society where resources were scarce, diligently expanded a small shop into a factory. He continued to insist on using traditional brewing methods to produce high-quality soy sauce, and the soy sauce produced with this technique was named 'Zheng Yin You' (Authentic Fermented Soy Sauce). After the third-generation owner, Zhong Zhuhong, took over the family business, he automated soy sauce packaging and developed a series of gift boxes, giving traditional soy sauce a new look. This not only sparked innovation in Taiwan's soy sauce industry but also made Ruichun Soy Sauce a household name and a major manufacturer. In 2000, 'Ruichun Soy Sauce Factory' was renamed 'Ruichun Soy Sauce Co., Ltd.' It has now been passed down to the fourth generation. To ensure consumers can eat with peace of mind, and insisting that 'Xiluo' soy sauce must be produced in Xiluo, in December 2012, a new factory in Xiluo Futian Industrial Park was completed and put into operation, featuring transparent production lines and the largest number of soy sauce vats for sun exposure in Taiwan. In 2022, it passed the Ministry of Economic Affairs' tourist factory evaluation, developing towards tourism. It was also selected as an excellent century-old store and an innovative elite old store by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and has repeatedly won awards such as Taiwan's Top 100 Souvenirs, Yunlin's Top 10 Souvenirs, and Yunlin's Fine Products. While ensuring 'deliciousness' and 'quality,' they also hope to promote traditional products and continue to pass down the century-old brewing techniques. Lin Shu-yuan, Chairperson of Ruichun Soy Sauce Co., Ltd., stated, '<Ruichun Soy Sauce> has been passed down through four generations since its founding, boasting over a century of brewing history. From an early family workshop, it has gradually grown to now possess Taiwan's largest brewing vat facility, with fully transparent production processes, producing high-quality black bean soy sauce.
