If a wedding banquet lacks mullet roe, the dishes seem incomplete; and for festive gifts, omitting mullet roe would be considered impolite. The dependable mullet, like an old friend, visits Taiwan, bringing good tidings. The emotional connection Taiwanese people have with mullet is like an enduring taste that lingers in the mouth, and mullet culture is Taiwan's unique culture of joy. Zhenfang Mullet Roe has a history of over 50 years. It began as a small, 2-ping (approx. 6.6 sq.m.) shop in Yancheng Market, filled with mullet roe. Its quality quickly earned deep customer trust, establishing a good reputation and a stable clientele. After the second generation took over, they actively introduced professional processes and established standard procedures, becoming the first mullet roe factory to obtain both ISO22000 and HACCP food safety certifications. That original small shop still stands today, maintaining deep emotional ties with its loyal customers. Taiwan is rich in marine resources, yet representative fishery brands are few. Japan has its King Crab, Mexico its abalone, Russia its caviar, and Yangcheng Lake its hairy crabs – all globally renowned. Taiwan, with its 400-year-old mullet culture, boasts one of its most important fisheries.
