[Assessment Validity Period: 2022/05/31~2025/05/30] [Excellence Validity Period: 2013/10/09~2016/10/08] Taoyuan Distillery is a new distillery formed by the merger of Taipei Distillery (1921), Banqiao Distillery (1937), and Shulin Distillery (1906), which collectively had nearly a century of history. It officially began mass production in the spring of 1987. The original three distilleries each had different products and cultural characteristics. After the merger, it developed into the largest and most modern grain-based alcoholic beverage production factory in the northern region. Since its establishment, Taoyuan Distillery has primarily focused on producing Shaoxing wine. In 1996, it successfully launched "Yuchuan Sake" by brewing Japanese sake using the original Shaoxing wine production equipment, becoming the only distillery in the nation to produce Japanese sake. In 2004, to address the issue of sake lees by-products, it developed the "TTL Sake Lees Facial Mask" product, positioned as a natural skincare ingredient. It became a sensation, dubbed "the poor man's SK-II." In 2005, it innovated further, combining Eastern red yeast rice with Western wine to launch "Yuchuan Red Yeast Rice Wine," a health-conscious product tailored to Taiwanese tastes. It gained widespread public affection and became Taiwan's top-selling wine brand. Taoyuan Distillery not only dedicates itself to various alcoholic beverage research and development but has also diversified its production methods. In 2007, it collaborated with a major biscuit manufacturer to develop "TTL Red Yeast Rice Health Crackers." Their unique flavor sparked a buying frenzy, becoming popular both domestically and internationally, generating over NT$1 billion in sales within just 1.5 years and becoming a miracle in the biscuit industry. To pursue diversified operations, in addition to producing alcoholic beverages, it has also established an exhibition and sales center, which features process exhibition halls such as the "Sake Hall," "Red Yeast Rice Hall," and "Wine Bank," open for public and tourist visits. This allows visitors to understand the process and history of winemaking/brewing while also connecting Taoyuan Distillery with other attractions within the industrial park (such as Formosa Plastics Museum, Zhulin Temple, Formosa Plastics Healthcare Park, Nanya Technology Park, etc.) and neighboring Yingge District industries. This forms a distinctive local industrial cultural tourism theme, not only boosting industrial tourism but also enhancing the richness of Taoyuan County's tourism system. In line with the company's asset revitalization policy and in conjunction with Taoyuan County's promotion of the Aerotropolis project and the opening of the airport MRT line, the Taoyuan Distillery leverages its foundations in alcohol production, industrial history, and market advantages, combined with resources in industrial culture, creative arts, and humanities, to transform the factory into a park. It aims to create a sake-themed cultural park, connecting surrounding towns, famous sites, attractions, and public facilities, to become a landmark tourist distillery in the northern region. This is expected to attract 8 million people from northern Taiwan to visit for tourism and recreation, thereby increasing revenue. ♦Excessive drinking is harmful to health♦ ♦If you drink, don't drive.
