【Assessment validity period: May 26, 2023 ~ May 25, 2026】 The Pingtung Tourism Distillery has been established for over 100 years and is currently the largest red-label rice wine production factory in Taiwan, earning it the beautiful moniker 'Home of Rice Wine'. Rice wine is closely related to the daily lives of the Taiwanese people and has a wide range of applications, making it an excellent subject for industrial education. Rich exhibits of distilling artifacts, combined with a spacious, green recreational environment, offer visitors a relaxing and educational tourism experience. South of Chiayi in Taiwan, and west of Taitung in the east, the Pingtung Tourism Distillery is the only rice wine production factory in Southern Taiwan. It boasts a long history and culture, chronicling many glorious years. Rice wine is an essential item for ordinary people for cooking nourishing dishes, entertaining guests, and confinement meals (zuo yue zi). Pingtung, being a major rice-producing area, can truly be called the 'Home of Rice Wine'. Through the exhibits detailing the distilling process and artifacts, visitors can remember the great achievements of past generations of distillers and also promote local distilling culture. In line with the company's diversified business strategy, this factory has been transformed into a tourism distillery, focusing on industrial themes that are informative, educational, recreational, and entertaining, to adapt to corporate transformation and sustainable operation. The expansive space and unobstructed views of the factory area are the biggest features of the Pingtung Tourism Distillery.
