Yunlin: Fu Lu Shou Tourist Distillery

[Evaluation Validity Period: 2023/06/20~2026/06/19] In 1965, Xinxing Food Enterprise Co., Ltd. was established as the predecessor of Fu Lu Shou Distillery. It officially transformed into alcohol research and development in 1998, establishing 'Fu Lu Shou International Spirits Co., Ltd.' at No. 11, Zhongshan Road, Gukeng Township, Yunlin County. In 2002, it officially obtained the distillery license issued by the National Treasury Administration of the Ministry of Finance. From 2003 to 2005, its rice wine and sorghum liquor series passed the Ministry of Finance's 'Premium Alcoholic Beverage' certification standards, making it Taiwan's first distillery to receive dual premium alcohol certifications from the Ministry of Finance. In 2007, to achieve the vision of combining 'production' and 'tourism,' it applied for guidance from the Ministry of Economic Affairs' Central Taiwan Office for tourist factories, leading to the establishment of the Fu Lu Shou Wine Museum. Entering the museum, visitors learn about the origin and development of the Fu Lu Shou Wine Museum. Starting from the concept of cherishing blessings by making alcohol from surplus rice grains, it introduces the daily life of early farmers, including their food, clothing, housing, and transportation. It also explains the agricultural tools used by farmers in different seasons, strengthening local educational significance, and recreates the equipment used for century-old rice wine distillation methods. The establishment of the wine museum primarily aims to combine the alcohol production process with culture, and to highlight how the value of alcohol is deeply connected to its 'history.' As connoisseurs often say, 'alcohol age' refers to its years of storage. For a distillery to be vibrant, it needs a legacy of history. Good alcohol withstands the test of time, and old traditions and artifacts are no different. Fu Lu Shou has established a tourist distillery, offering DIY programs that provide an educational and traditionally significant holiday experience. Its tourism value is highly anticipated.
