It has built a solid foundation and made its mark internationally through innovation and technology, becoming a professional manufacturer of sports sunglasses and an OEM for international first-tier brands. Its own brand, 720armour, is an extreme brand for extreme sports and is deeply loved by the market. In 1978, Taiwan was taking over sunglass manufacturing technology transferred from Japan. Hwa-Mei's founder, Chen Jen-Hwa, started his business manufacturing Buddhist ritual items in Syuejia, Tainan, a saline-alkali region. By chance, he acquired a few simple glasses welding machines, and in a townhouse on Anzhong Road, Tainan City, with his wife Wu Mei-Hwa, he embarked on Hwa-Mei Optical's journey in the eyewear industry. Hwa-Mei Optical initially focused on producing metal sunglasses. From 1990 onwards, it diversified into the R&D and production of various functional outdoor sports eyewear, including sports sunglasses and industrial safety goggles. By continuously developing new manufacturing processes, it meets diverse consumer needs through its own brand, '720armour'. In 1998, General Manager Mr. Chen Chih-Ming conducted a market survey in Tokyo. Passing by an eyewear store, he saw high-quality, beautifully displayed glasses priced in the tens of thousands of NTD. However, on a promotional cart outside the store, glasses priced at only a few hundred NTD were Hwa-Mei's products. This moment had a significant impact on him, and he established the vision to 'become an ODM manufacturer of world-renowned sports safety eyewear brands.' Through the efforts of all partners, over 80% of Hwa-Mei's turnover in 2012 came from globally renowned sports eyewear brands. In 2014, after the founder experienced vision problems and subsequently delved into knowledge about related visual issues, Hwa-Mei Optical re-established its vision: 'Create new vision, see a new world.' In addition to continuously developing new technologies and providing better solutions for visual problems, it also hopes to establish an eyewear museum in Taiwan, to pass on Taiwan's eyewear industry culture, and to accompany more consumers in embracing excellent vision together, seeing happiness.
