【Accreditation Validity Period: 2021/09/28~2024/09/27】 【Excellence Award Validity Period: 2012/10/17~2015/10/16】 TAISALT, formerly known as Taiwan Salt Works, was established in 1952. It was originally responsible for supplying salt products nationwide, using traditional sun-drying methods. However, with industrial economic development and the increasing demand for both the quality and quantity of salt, TAISALT introduced ion-exchange membrane electrodialysis salt production technology from Japan. The Tongxiao Refined Salt Plant was completed and commissioned in 1975, producing high-quality edible refined salt to meet national consumption needs. Furthermore, they utilize the evaporated condensed water generated during the salt production process as raw material to process and produce various bottled waters beneficial for health, such as alkaline ionized water and deep ocean water, which are highly favored by consumers. The Tongxiao Refined Salt Plant is currently Taiwan's only factory for producing edible salt. The high-grade refined salt it produces accounts for over 80% of the market share. It is also an industry committed to energy conservation and carbon reduction, making good use of the Earth's ecological resources. To combine the unique production process of the Tongxiao Refined Salt Plant with surrounding tourist attractions, creating a linear attraction that offers both education and recreation, TAISALT established the 'Yan Lai Hall' (Salt Come Hall) tourism factory within the 'Tongxiao Tourist Park' in 2011, with guidance from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute). Under the dedicated efforts of the TAISALT team, 'Yan Lai Hall,' the world's only salt industry tourism factory, set multiple records, including being planned and completed in just three months and passing its accreditation in a single attempt. Through vivid and interesting exhibitions, it concretely presents the development history of Taiwan's salt industry. 'Yan Lai Hall' is a comprehensive exhibition center that combines an introduction to modern salt production with multi-functional classrooms. The exhibits and guided tours within the hall reveal the high-tech professional salt production methods and corporate culture of TAISALT's Tongxiao Refined Salt Plant through the secret journey of a drop of seawater. Visitors can also participate in various salt-related scientific experience activities to further explore the vast world of salt products. Guided tours within 'Yan Lai Hall' include the Marine Knowledge Zone, Corporate History Zone, Ocean Elements Zone, Production Process Zone, Salt Knowledge Zone, Salt Tips Zone, Diverse Products Zone, and a DIY Multi-functional Classroom. The hall offers activities like boiling seawater into salt and DIY Colorful Lucky Salt. It also features TAISALT's newly launched online inquiry service for the complete traceability of food products. After visiting 'Yan Lai Hall,' visitors can also admire the globally unique salt sculpture art in the 'Salt Sculpture Cultural and Creative Park' within the same complex. We welcome everyone to TAISALT Tongxiao Tourist Park to enjoy an intellectual and healthy journey.
