Yunlin: Yuanshun Sesame Tourist Oil Mill

[Evaluation Validity Period: 2023/06/20~2026/06/19] Originating from the late Qing Dynasty, the Wu family ancestors operated a business grinding flour and making vermicelli in Tuku Township, Yunlin County. At that time, they already used "Yuanshun" as their signboard, a name passed down through generations, and now boasts a century of history. In 1967, Mr. Wu Wu-hsiung took over the oil business from his predecessors, establishing the Yuanshun Oil Mill and specializing in the production of edible oils. Due to business development needs, in 1978 (the 67th year of the Republic), they applied for registration with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, officially establishing Juhui Industrial Co., Ltd. Over the years, they gradually set up four marketing branches in Taipei, Taichung, Yunlin, and Pingtung to develop customers, with sales points extending throughout the province. Since 1989, they have offered free educational workshops on edible oils, such as member education for mutual aid societies and for organic food stores across the province, like Cotton Field. They also became an approved learning vendor for Yunlin County's "Nine-Year Integrated Curriculum, Healthy Eating for Elementary School Teachers." We are happy to share our professional knowledge and experience with the public. In 2007, a specialist was specially hired to meticulously design the Sesame Culture and Lifestyle Museum. In 2010, they officially planned the Yuanshun Sesame Tourist Oil Mill in collaboration with National Yunlin University of Science and Technology. Inside the factory, historical photos and ancient oil-making equipment are displayed, allowing you to enter a time tunnel and browse the founding story of "Yuanshun," and how it has grown and thrived to this day, steadfastly adhering to the belief of "only manufacturing products beneficial to human health." Also featured is a large poster about Mrs. Wu's journey to regain her health. While shopping for delicious specialties, you can also absorb health information, with a variety of sesame-based products available for selection.
