Since the Japanese colonial era, it has actively participated in and led the development and innovation of Taiwan's hosiery industry. From early hand-cranked knitting, semi-automatic knitting, to advanced computer-controlled knitting, we have always insisted on providing consumers with the highest quality socks, and aspire to continue to prioritize quality and service, progressing towards a steadily developing century-old enterprise. Opened in 2013, the Wu Fu Yang Socks Story Museum fully preserves precious historical materials on the development of Taiwan's hosiery industry and the company's history. The sock-knitting process is also demonstrated on-site. The museum's exhibition planning combines tradition with innovation, emphasizing both knowledge and entertainment, allowing visitors to gain a deep understanding of the evolution of hosiery over time. A dedicated app, 'Good Socks House,' has also been specially developed, offering all-in-one services for games, new knowledge, shopping, and travel. Additionally, seasonal DIY courses are offered, allowing the whole family to experience the joy of traditional hand-cranked sock knitting from a century ago! In the 1930s, during the Japanese colonial period, there were no professional sock manufacturing factories in Taiwan. Wu Nai-Yang, the first-generation chairman of Wu Fu Yang, observed the market demand and business opportunities for socks in Taiwan. He introduced the most advanced hand-cranked sock knitting machines from abroad at the time and hired master craftsmen from Shanghai to Taiwan to teach the production of high-grade silk socks. This marked the beginning of a deep connection between the Wu family and socks. When Wu Nai-Yang started the business, to commemorate his late father, Wu Fu-Tang, he took one character from his own name and one from his father's to name the company 'Wu Fu Yang.' Wu Fu Yang insists on following correct manufacturing methods, differentiating 9 sizes suitable for Asian foot shapes based on user age and foot length, and uses specialized machines for knitting, ensuring the socks provide the most comfortable and snug fit for the feet. Due to Wu Fu Yang's commitment to sock quality, many well-known domestic and international apparel and sports brands have been long-standing key clients of Wu Fu Yang Socks. Wu Fu Yang Knitting has fully participated in the evolution of Taiwan's hosiery industry. In the decades since the introduction of hand-cranked knitting machines, the hosiery industry has undergone an evolution from semi-automatic knitting to high-capacity fully automatic production. With the rise of environmental awareness, it has also begun to experiment with eco-friendly and functional materials. To provide an edutainment-focused hosiery education and leisure environment. To preserve the development of Taiwan's hosiery industry and Wu Fu Yang's history, the third-generation operator, Wu Hong-Zhou, had long hoped to establish a socks story museum. While competitors moved their operations to China, we insisted on remaining rooted in Taiwan. The decision to establish the story museum was to provide the public with an industrial education environment that combines entertainment and knowledge. We hope that it can offer visitors a rich experiential journey and contribute to Taiwan's hosiery industry.
