Yilan: Junbaobei Museum

[Assessment validity period: 2023/08/03~2026/08/02] Bio-Nightingale Biotechnology has long been a leading supplier of probiotic raw materials in Taiwan. Its team consists mainly of microbiology experts from Taiwan, the United States, the United Kingdom, and other regions, focusing on the development of nanobiotechnology products used in health foods, skincare products, personal hygiene products, and preventive medicine. On November 20, 2009, it acquired Chifoo Cord Blood Biotechnology and was renamed Bio-Nightingale Biotechnology Co., Ltd. in 2020. In 2011, it established the 'Bio-Nightingale Biotechnology Tourist Factory' and the nation's first 'Junbaobei Museum'. The name 'Junbaobei' is a homophone for the Taiwanese pronunciation of 'hen baobei' (very precious), conveying the meaning of 'precious or treasure' of bacteria. The original intention behind its establishment was the realization that the general public still has a limited understanding of, and even rejects or fears, the ubiquitous microorganisms in their daily lives. We hope that through the establishment of the Junbaobei Museum, everyone can gain a deeper understanding of the microbial world and also realize that the natural environment doesn't only contain 'bad' bacteria; there are also various 'precious' bacteria beneficial to humans. The Junbaobei Museum is Yilan's first tourist factory to receive 'Environmental Education Venue Certification'. It was once ranked 'Taiwan's #1 Hottest Tourist Factory' and was featured in the internationally renowned travel guide, Lonely Planet's 'Secret Marvels of the World', being selected as a global must-visit attraction and the only tourist factory in Taiwan to be included! It is recommended to call in advance to book a guided tour. Tour guides will introduce you to good bacteria, bad bacteria, and the mysteries of the microbial world in a humorous, engaging, and easy-to-understand manner, often including quizzes with prizes! There are DIY experience activities suitable for both adults and children (hydrating lotion, dark spot-reducing moisturizing mask, overnight sleeping mask, kumquat hand sanitizer gel). The museum spans a large area, offering not only exhibitions but also outdoor walks and fish feeding, making it ideal for family visits!
