Gourd Carving Art Museum

Gourds, also known as 'huzai' (bottle gourds), are a common agricultural product in Taiwanese rural areas. Their charming and exquisite appearance makes them widely beloved. Shanlin District began promoting gourd art creation in the 1990s, which has since become a distinctive local feature. Teacher He Ming-hsien is dedicated to the art of gourd carving, investing a great deal of effort in research and continually challenging himself to innovate. He went on to establish the Shanlin Gourd Art Exhibition Hall, which showcases various gourd carving techniques and includes a display area for student works.
