Visitor Essentials

The Suo'aji Suspension Bridge is located in Taoyuan District, Kaohsiung City, and is the longest vehicular suspension bridge in Taiwan. It is not only an important local transportation hub but also embodies the cultural characteristics of the local Meilan community – the Sa'arua (saruwa) tribe. The bridge columns are painted with patterns resembling eagle feathers, the bridge abutments are designed in the shape of wild boars, and at the bridgehead stands a sculpture of tribal members strenuously pulling the suspension cables, showcasing a majestic and magnificent cultural imagery, making this suspension bridge a landmark that combines functionality and art.
