Hamasen Trading Building

During the Japanese colonial period, Hamasen was a thriving commercial hub. 'Ekimae Dori' (Station Front Avenue), located in front of the former Takao Station, was Hamasen's most prosperous area, once home to numerous financial institutions, earning it the moniker 'Financial First Street.' The Hamasen Trading Building stands at a pivotal location on this station-front street. The site was originally home to the 'Haruta-kan,' a high-end chain grand hotel, established in 1907.
