Whampoa New Village

Whampoa New Village is located directly opposite the Republic of China Military Academy, commonly known as the Whampoa Military Academy. Its construction was completed around 1943. In 1947, the Army Training Command was established in Taiwan, with General Sun Li-jen concurrently serving as its director. Military dependents who arrived in Taiwan subsequently moved into Chengcheng New Village and Chengcheng Second Village (which are now known as Whampoa New Village and Whampoa Second Village). It was one of the first military dependents' villages established after the government relocated to Taiwan.
