The officers' street in Minde New Village was home to high-ranking naval generals. This site was formerly the dormitory for general-ranked officers of the Imperial Japanese Navy's 11th Air Fleet. Therefore, the bungalows are predominantly Japanese-style architecture with spacious courtyards, each official residence averaging about 100 to 200 ping. Former Japanese Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone also once lived in the village. After the war, it was inhabited by naval generals and their families, truly earning its name as a "General's Village."
