National Science and Technology Museum

Kaohsiung is a city with highly developed heavy industry. In line with local industrial characteristics, Taiwan's first museum focusing on applied sciences – the National Science and Technology Museum – was established in Sanmin District, Kaohsiung City. Its main mission is to collect and research technological artifacts, display science and technology-related themes, and promote science education. The National Science and Technology Museum covers a vast area and is divided into the South Hall and North Hall. An armillary sphere stands in the outdoor park, symbolizing the power of science and knowledge.
