Cheng Lan Battery

Fengshan County New City originally had six city gates and six batteries. Currently, only one city gate (Dongbian Gate) and three batteries (Chenglan, Pingcheng, and Xunfeng) survive. All of them have been designated as municipal historic monuments under the name "Remains of Fengshan County City". Chenglan Battery is located at the intersection of Lizhi Street and Fuxing Street in Fengshan District (behind Fengshan Elementary School). It is situated in the southwest corner of the county city and is an irregular octagonal battery. On both wing walls of the battery, one can still clearly see several "gun ports" (larger on the inside, smaller on the outside) designed for long rifle fire. From the battery, looking towards the moat, the view is expansive.
