Kaohsiung Cultural Center

The Kaohsiung Cultural Center was established on April 16, 1981, with an outdoor green space spanning 7.055 hectares. It symbolizes Kaohsiung's cultural development. Guangzhou 1st Street, located next to it, is also home to many art galleries. The Cultural Center not only provides a place for recreation for Kaohsiung citizens but also enriches the artistic vision of the city's residents. It offers cultural and artistic spaces including two performance halls (Zhide Hall and Zhishan Hall), seven exhibition halls, and a library. Surrounding the Cultural Center, the "Citizens' Art Avenue," imbued with a humanistic atmosphere, creates a unique space. Art installations such as artistic benches, steel sculptures, and mosaic ground paintings along the sidewalks have become a model for "urban aesthetics."
