Visitor Essentials

The Qishan Confucius Temple is located within Qishan Gushan Park, covering an area of 4.1 hectares, making it the largest Confucius Temple in Taiwan. Its halls, palaces, and pavilions are grand and towering. The temple gate features a five-bay archway, which is both solemn and expansive. The architecture follows the style of the Song Dynasty, with yellow glazed tiles, vermilion beams and pillars, and white jade railings, creating a magnificent and imposing sight. Every year, a spring Confucius memorial and blessing ceremony is held here to pray for students' academic success, flourishing careers in scholarship, and excellent exam results. As the Confucius Temple is situated at the highest point of Gushan Park, it is surrounded by lush green trees and verdant hills. The dense forests and tall bamboo offer a panoramic view of the park's beautiful landscapes and the picturesque Qishan Plain. On weekdays, it is also an excellent spot for people to go hiking and enjoy the night view.
