The Kaohsiung Guandi Temple, formerly known as "Guandi Hall," is one of Kaohsiung's most popular and historic temples, estimated to have been founded over three hundred years ago. The temple primarily enshrines Guan Sheng Dijun Guan Yu, who symbolizes loyalty and righteousness. It is also accompanied by the worship of Zhusheng Niangniang (Goddess of Birth) and Fude Zhengshen (God of Earth). The rear hall additionally enshrines Guanyin Bodhisattva, accompanied by Puxian Bodhisattva (Samantabhadra) and Wenshu Bodhisattva (Manjushri). Separate halls are dedicated to Wenchang Dijun (God of Culture and Literature), the God of Wealth, and Yue Lao (the Matchmaker God) for devotees, which are always bustling with pious men and women praying for good fortune and peace.
