Kaohsiung Mosque

The Kaohsiung Mosque is the second mosque in Taiwan. It was founded in 1949, established through the advocacy and fundraising efforts of Muslim military personnel, civil servants, and educators who moved to Taiwan with the government at that time and were devout followers of Islam. As the number of Muslims grew and the original facility became insufficient, construction began in 1990 to expand it to its current scale. The exterior of the Kaohsiung Mosque features a typical Islamic architectural style: a refreshing green square building with a domed spire and a minaret. Inside, there is a spacious and bright prayer hall, making it the largest Islamic center of worship in southern Taiwan.
