Xiaolin Village Memorial Park

In the early morning of August 9, 2009, the powerful winds and torrential rains of Typhoon Morakot caused a landslide on Xiantu Mountain, burying Xiaolin Village in Jiaxian District. The severe disaster shocked the entire nation. To commemorate and remember the 462 villagers buried in Xiaolin Village, the Kaohsiung City Government established the Xiaolin Village Memorial Park on a highland south of the original village site, which was completed and opened in 2012.
