Located in Zuoying District, the Native Botanical Garden is the nation's first park dedicated to native plants. Covering an area of 4.66 hectares, the park was constructed using ecological engineering methods that closely mimic nature. It combines undulating terrain with the original waterways of the old Caogong Canal, creating a landscape that resembles a miniature natural ecosystem. The Aquatic Plant Zone with its gurgling streams, the Tropical Plant Zone, the Monsoon Rainforest, and the Coral Reef Zone immerse visitors in a truly impressive experience. The park currently hosts over 60 species of Taiwanese native plants across 45 families, with each plant accompanied by detailed explanations, much like a living plant library. There is also a children's play area and an ecological interpretation center, making it an ideal destination for leisure and education, where visitors can wander through the lush ecosystem and learn while having fun.
